I'm still sorting through the 600+ photos I took yesterday at the FM 94/9 Independence Jam, but while I'm doing that, I thought I'd share some video. First, Mr. Brian Karscig was telling me that he actually calls FM 94/9 to request a specific beer commercial. I had no idea what he was talking about, so he played me this snippet. Appropriate because MGD was the beer sponsor of the event (though the bands/friends/crew could've used about 4 more cases in the backstage area).
I didn't really plan on recording any video at the Indie Jam, but since it was Ian's last show and I found myself a spot on the wing of the stage, I couldn't resist. Sorry for the funny color, apparently my digital camera can't read LED lighting. On the other hand, considering I had my camera on a speaker cabinet and I was wearing earplugs, I am always amazed by the sound compression in my Sony cameras. Amazing if you know how loud this shit was from where I was standing. Hopefully I'll have some photos up before the next decade.
Anyway, here's The Silent Comedy performing "Victory", "Footnotes", and "Gasoline".
I'm amazed at the sound quality! My ears felt blown for a full 24 hours from standing next to that speaker. I totally need to be better about my earplugs.
