- ZOO GOSS:
- There's not a lot of hot goss at the zoo right now, or I've just not been around to hear it. I've heard that perhaps some crates have been delivered to eventually move the two juvenile giraffes, but with no timeline. I've also seen that a new baby sloth was born in the past several weeks, but I'm never around for those animal presentations to see. I will say if you're planning on visiting the zoo at night, don't be like the people I heard asking for a refund because they didn't know they wouldn't see any animals. You might see the elephants, or possibly some cats, and you'll definitely see the hippos if you brave the very dark hippo trail, which is missing at least 4 lights by the tigers and tapirs, but even they are sometimes just sleeping by the warm jets. Nighttime Zoo is something you do if you've already spent your money on the daylight hours, if you have kids who wanna see the performers, music, and Halloweenie things, or if you're a crazy old person with a membership who just shows up at 8pm in hopes that the hippos wake up for playtime.

Unfortunately, he is one of several of the rescues that have died after their new placements, with necropsies showing longstanding illnesses, inflammation, and pollutants like paint and plastics in their digestive tracts, demonstrating just how dire their situation was in Canada before the relocations happened. The remaining two rescues have not yet been on habitat at Seaworld San Diego as they continue to acclimate and are monitored for health. - Seaworld San Diego Facebook Post/10.18.26
