Monday: The Dead Weather & Harlem @ HoB SOLD OUT!!

The Dead Weather show at the House of Blues on Monday has been sold out for some time and with the line of 60+ waiting to get into The Rumble last week, I hope everyone makes sure to show up early to catch Harlem. This week I ran a contest to win admission to the sound check and I'm happy to announce the winner is Shane W.

Special thanks to those of you who sent in photos. How was the winner selected? I number the emails in order of arrival (with the photo entries counting as two numbers)then use randomizer.org The lucky number was 11, which means I'll be seeing Shane W at the soundcheck. To my non-winners, I'm sorry. This was the largest number of entries I've received for any contest I've ever run and while your begging emails were hilarious and compelling, this had to be legit.

Contest: See The Dead Weather Soundcheck

The Casbah is presenting The Dead Weather at the House of Blues on monday night and the show is completely sold out, but a lucky few will get to see the band soundcheck before the show. I've got access for one fan and their guest to get in on the action. I was supposed to make you work hard for the opportunity and send a photo of you in a mask that would fit on the cover of the record, but since it's short notice, just shoot me your name and phone number. Casbah Presents: The Dead Weather 7/19 & The Black Keys 9/25

Today the Casbah announced two huge shows coming to San Diego. First, The Dead Weather will be at the House of Blues on July 19, with tickets going on-sale May 8 via Ticketmaster or the HoB box office. The second show features The Black Keys with guest Nicole Atkins at Soma on September 25, with tickets going on sale Friday, May 7 via Soma's ticketing system, Lunatiks.com.

Both bands are no strangers to San Diego, with The Black Keys last show here at last year's FM 94/9's Indie Jam and The Dead Weather's debut appearance here at 2009's Street Scene.





The Black Keys have a new record, Brothers, dropping on May 18. The Dead Weather's new record drops on May 11, and you can see them perform the entire LP, Sea of Cowards, today via MySpace at 3pm PST.
