Today was a day where I went from pajamas I slept in, to showering, and putting back on new pajama lounger pants. It's so nice to experience feeling chilly and cozy after our aggressively hot summer. We're finally going through our ballots and stumbled upon this discussion about the School Board District A which is interesting but makes Sabrina Bazzo the far superior candidate in my book.
Besides that, it was a low key day. We watched some baseball, watched some football. Last night I stayed up and binged The Queen's Gambit on Netflix which I thoroughly enjoyed, even though I'm not really a chess player at all. It's very watchable even if you know nothing about the game; it's more about an eccentric orphan's journey through excellence and addiction.
The news cycle is going to be insane for the next couple weeks and there's a lot of big stuff happening, but you know where to find all of that and I'm just gonna keep it to the stuff I find relevant and doesn't mention those people by name as much as possible.

- It's no secret that I kinda fangirl over Newsom, ever since he campaigned here for Lieutenant Governor and I got to meet him. But don't confuse that with 100% support. During this pandemic, I've been grateful that we are Californians. But I don't think he gets it right on everything and recognize he is still a politician and isn't slime-free. One major way I disagree with the state is when it comes to fracking. I'm unfamiliar with this source so I can't speak to the accuracy of the information, but I feel like I have to share this article anyway.

- I highly respect Mikey Knab of Ponce's/High Road Restaurants. We didn't match on all of our candidates, but we are in lockstep for all of the propositions and measures and he has good explainers for all of them. I'm a yes on 14-19, 21,23, and 25. I'm a hard no on 20, 22, and 24. I'm also yes on A,B,D,E, with a no on C. Check out his Voter Guide. As for my candidates, obviously I'm Biden/Harris. For the 53rd I'm sticking with Georgette Gomez, Toni Atkins for Senator, Tim Nader for Judge, and for SDUSD Board of Education: Bazzo, Berrera, Richmond. And my mayoral choice is Todd Gloria. For Council I'm voting Toni Duran for my district. I'm still considering other candidates. Like the San Diego Progressive Dems endorsed Sarah Davis over Chris Ward for Assembly so I'm reading into that, and people really hate Cory Briggs for all of his "frivolous" lawsuits, but he's won a ton of them, when our City tried to ram through "assessments" or taxes or bullshit deals that required community oversight. So I have to ponder that one a bit longer, too.
