Tonight: d/wolves & Brothers Young @ Bar Pink

A while back, I got an e-mail from a publicist from Portland whom I've befriended telling me about his friends' band that was going to tour. He was quick to point out he was not their publicist but was trying to help them out as a friend, but they hadn't been able to secure a date in San Diego. I listened to the band and after instantly digging their sound, I reached out to Dang at Bar Pink and even though it's normally Tiki Tuesday, he agreed to have the show. I enlisted my boys in d/wolves to jump on the bill and we were set. Check out the feature on the band in this week's CityBeat.

Brothers Young are a six piece from Portland made up of three brothers and three of their closest friends. They're touring the west coast in support of their latest EP, Good People, which is officially released today. Check out a free download of "Good Deeds" (right-click/save-as) and see more about the band here.

The show is free and the bands will start at 10 pm.

d/wolves rock the soda bar

I was writing a general North Park Music Thing wrap-up post, but realized I have several photos I want to post and I have a lot to say about the event and a ton of people to thank, so I'll save that one for later. For now, since I finally got around to uploading some videos, I thought I'd share the d/wolves set with you. They played on Saturday at Soda Bar since they weren't allowed to play my showcase.

You can catch the band on 8/31 at Bar Pink with Brothers Young from Portland (free) and again on 9/19 at the Casbah, opening for Film School.
