Sandy Parts Festival Set Times

For those heading to Oceanside for the sold out SPF on Saturday, sponsor FM 94.9 has posted the set times. There will be two stages for the event.  Gates open at 3:00.

3:30-4:00- Soda Pants...FM 94.9 Main Stage

6:00-6:45- Family of the Year...Red Bull Tour Bus Stage

9:00-10:00- Matt & Kim...FM 94.9 Main Stage

As always, if you will be consuming alcoholic beverages before, during or after the event, use public transportation or a designated driver...Enjoy the show...

Last week, we piled in the a friend's car and headed up to the Oceanside Pier for the Sandy Parts Festival. The show happened to be the same day as X-Fest, but FM 94/9 hooked me up and frankly, bribery works for me. The bands were all great: Santigold, The Naked and Famous, Imagine Dragons, Electric Guest and the FM 94/9 house band, The Federal Reserve of Consumption, and the Oceanside Pier is the most scenic outdoor concert spaces in the county. I posted these on Facebook last week, but thought I should probably post them here, too. FM 94/9 will be hosting their Independence Jam in September (I'm hearing just announced: September 16th) at the same location.

Sunday Set Times: SPF949 & X-Fest

If you ask me, it's a bummer that FM 94/9 and 91X are going head to head with summer concerts on Sunday. I listen to both stations and have friends at both stations and I think both offered good lineups. SPF is sold out, but keep in mind that the capacity is about 1/3 (or maybe 1/4 of the size) of Cricket. It's also a bummer that they're at the extreme north and south fringes of the county, because theoretically I could do both if I found someone adventurous enough. Ah, well, can't do it all. Here are your set times for both.

FM 94/9 Announces Sandy Parts Festival - June 3 at Oceanside Pier

FM 94/9 has announced a new event at the Oceanside Pier. Given the title the Sandy Parts Festival (SPF), the event is taking place on June 3rd with Santigold, The Naked and Famous, Imagine Dragons, and Electric Guest. The show will only set you back $20 (or $25 the week of the show) and the general admission tickets will go on sale this coming Monday.




This event is taking place the same day as 91X's X-Fest and is an interesting way to go head to head with the station. It is my understanding that the two-stage Independence Jam, which normally takes place in the middle of summer at the Oceanside Pier, will instead be held sometime in September.
