Once again San Diego has been blessed to host yet another prophet from the church of DFA Records. If you missed Hercules & Love Affair a couple months back, frankly, you fucked up. Even Rosey, who hates dance/funk/electro awesomeness had a hard time spitting out that she didn't enjoy herself (I saw you dancing, don't front Ro!!). This time around, we are visited by an elder statesmen, a seasoned veteran so to speak of the electronic/dance scene. The Juan MacLean. I saw this outfit about 3 or 4 years ago at The Casbah right after "Less Than Human" came out and they rocked, seriously. I kept looking at the stage, where I saw humans, but I only heard magic robots, serenading me with the sweet, sweet tantric love cries of cosmic unicorns. I danced, I cried, I drank, I danced some more while crying, and when the smoke cleared and the unicorns transported home and the robots dressed like humans packed up their futuristic instruments, I was left with one thought. If these guys are leaving in a spaceship at the end of the night, I'm going with them...and so should you San Diego!!! This Monday night, The Casbah, 8:30pm, $12. I'll meet you on the spaceship.
