CoViD-19 President's Day Weekend | More News On Variants | CA Risk Decreasing, But For How Long? | Biden Stands Up To 2A Nutjobs |

A Pic of Funani and Amahle at San Diego Zoo For National Hippo Day (Taken 11/20/2019)

I had such a nice extended weekend. We got some backyard time without construction noise and Darren's cooking has been especially impressive of late. We went for a short little hike through the canyons around the 25th Street park with Ficus which was really nice and reminded me that there's a whole world outside our yard that may finally be more accessible as these vaccines continue to roll out. We also took Nova to my parents' house where she'll stay for the rest of the week so she can do her distance-learning in peace.

Of course I also watched my news binges for the day. That weather across the country is insane! Happy to pay the sunshine tax to live in this beautiful state. And while I'm thinking about California, I'm already so sick of hearing about the recall efforts. The news keeps giving airtime to this Hitler-looking guy behind the campaign named Orrin Heatlie who is a real piece of shit, sitting in front of his American flag to let us know the nationalist that he is incase it wasn't clear. Governor Newsom is far from perfect but this recall effort really pisses me off because the republicans know they would never win this state in an actual real election. Fuck all of them and I hope everyone registered makes sure to vote NO whenever this special election happens. Never forget that Faulconer didn't do shit for San Diego.

Stay safe out there. California's R-effective was green for the first time this weekend but it's now gone back up, so we may already be seeing that variant spreading which would be no bueno for sure.
