Josh Damigo Tour Diary: Day 3

Day three started out pretty smoothly. We were able to leave Chicago after about 3 hours of sleep, and got my buddy Landon Keller (a soulful, singer-songwriter) to drive us to the airport. We then got the rental car and dropped his car off and hit the road.

Kitty (My tour manager) was dropped off in line for the live concert DVD that Jason Mraz, Bushwalla, and Colbie Caillat were playing at. The show (according to her, the show was awesome, but I don’t think I could ever stand in line for 8+ hours… that’s just crazy!)

Landon and I started driving. We were supposed to go and check out my guitar endorser’s home, but because of a few miscommunications, we ended up in the absolute opposite end of the state. They said, “We can just see you next time when you’re in town…” (Apparently, they believe I’m going to be touring regularly… that’s a great feeling, when people believe in you!)For the rest of the diary, click 'keep on reading'.

We got to the place we were going to say and I did some homework. (I am getting my Master’s degree online. It’s a great option for touring artists.) and took a well-deserved nap.

We left to get to Birdy’s in Indianapolis, and upon arrival, saw about 15 people at the show. Apparently John Mclaughlin was playing a free show at the Indianapolis state fair and it was “Indianapolis’ Music Day” as well, so most of the people that would have been there never came. But this is something musicians HAVE to get used to. There will almost always be other things going on in major cities; you have to be on top of your game to be the best option.

The bartender liked me, and I met a girl named Sara who would end up taking me out after the show. Sometimes after a rough show, it’s good to meet new people. To me, it can fix the entire night.

Went to bed around 2:00. It was a pretty good day.
