Back during Rocktoberfest, I was standing with the guys in Everest while Low Volts was onstage. They were commenting on how good looking and great sounding he was, and when I said, "he's also amazingly creative and a brilliant designer," they looked at me and said, "Man, I hate that guy." To call Tim Lowman a triple-threat is to undervalue just how talented and all around awesome he is. He's got a new video for your eyeballs and earholes, so check it out.
If you still don't have Twist Shake Grind Break, check it out here and pick it up at the next show. If you live out of town, you can buy it from BandCamp, or I'm sure you can message him and paypal and he'll send you a physical copy.

The Silent Comedy Release "Gasoline" Video
We, The Silent Comedy guys, recently shot a video for our song "Gasoline" in the woods outside San Diego with our good friends Kevin and Rebecca Joelson, and the help of some other friends as well.
Rather than producing a conventional music video, we decided to use acoustic instruments and record all the audio on-site. We shot the video in one continuous take that pans 360 degrees. This was a challenging way to shoot, but ended up creating a cool effect.
Check it out!

Official Video for "TAKE YOUR MEDICINE" by TRANSFER
Take a look at the new TRANSFER video for "TAKE YOUR MEDICINE"
Directed by Nader Husseini and developed by the creative team at Radium/Reel FX.
TRANSFER approached Husseini to direct the music video for their soon-to-be-released single after seeing his work on the Happy Bullets’ music video “The Vice & VirtueMinistry
For “Take Your Medicine,” Husseini collaborated with the band members of Transfer for the live shoot; they were featured as both the Doctors, shown at the start diagnosing the girl, and conversely as captives trapped inside of the Beast.
The video offers a unique visual representation of the song's lyrics, which question society's growing dependence on prescription medications.
“I’m proud of all the work and talent all of the Radium/Reel FX artists put into the project to make it a unique experiment in an alternative CG animation style,” says Husseini. It's picking up steam in the festival circuit, showing at the following:
38th Annual Siggraph Computer Animation Fest
4th Annual SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival
The San Francisco International Festival of Short Films
7th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival
14th Annual FirstGlance Film Fest Philadelphia
Chicago International Movies & Music Fest
British Independent Film Festival
5th Annual Dallas International Film Festival
44th Annual International Film Festival Houston
2nd Annual World Music & Independent Film Festival, Washington D.C.
Awarded Platinum Remi for Best Rock Music Video | 2011 Houston WorldFest
Nominated in three categories at the DC World Music & Independent Film Festival: Best In Animation, Best Rock Music Video and Best Director.

Red Fox Tails "Fwimming"
I'm trying to attack my inbox and realized I missed a few things, like this new video from Red Fox Tails. If you haven't seen them live, get to it. I've had them at West Coast Tavern a few time, they've played El Dorado a bunch, and you can find them here and there around town.
Check out their site for more info and show dates here.

new New Mexico video
I love Sundays because everything seems to slow down a bit, and on a good day, I get less than a dozen emails....compared to the three hundred or so I get on Monday (dread). Today, I was happy to see this little gem arrive...a new video from New Mexico. I love these guys sonically and they're all great guys to boot and they've definitely made their mark in the San Diego music scene and beyond.

The Silent Comedy's 2010 Tour Highlights
It's been a busy year for us in The Silent Comedy. It's not over yet, but we decided to put together a collection of some of our favorite moments from this past year (with a couple previously unseen moments from last year's 91X Boo's Cruise thrown in). We've been traveling a lot lately, so this video will give you an idea of what we get up to when we're on the road.
We set the video to one of our favorite songs from our good friends, Fierce Creatures, who will be joining us at the Casbah on November 11th! This show is going to be awesome, so click here to get your tickets now!
Enjoy the video!

Ben Harper & Relentless7 "Fly One Time"
I spent the last couple weeks at my parents house in Chula Vista, taking over the daycare while they ventured off to Vegas. During my short stint, since my parents lack a proper stereo, I spent a lot of time listening to MusicChoice on Cox digital cable. I tend to listen to channel 918, which is the triple A station (adult album alternative). Much like KPRi, it plays a huge variety of music that is at times great (the new Son Volt & Wilco) and other times easy enough to tune out. I kept hearing this song and every time I'd go check the TV to see who it was and was surprised it was Ben Harper & Relentless7. I don't know why I was surprised...I've never had anything against Ben Harper, but I don't own any of his catalogue either...
That said, I love this song, and the video came out today, so I thought I'd share it. Makes me kinda bummed I missed the Belly Up performance because while the band is touring, they're pretty much only appearing at festivals like Lolla and whatnot.

YouTube: The New Archaic "A New Future"
The New Archaic are a relatively new San Diego band. They've already had promising shows at Casbah and Belly Up (as recorded in this video).
From their bio:
From their bio:
They are based in Encinitas, 18 & 19 years old, college students and have been involved in the local music scene with previous bands for several years.
The band founder, Joe Harrison, comes from the punk scene with his previous band, The Wrecking Crew and his tour performances with The Adolescents for the past three years. The New Archaic's sound is far removed from that of punk but rather borders along the Alternate/Pop/Rock genre.
They recently released a four song, self-titled EP produced by Grammy nominated producer, Steve Churchyard and Big Fish Studios resident engineer Ben Moore. The band has already written additional songs to possibly include with the EP for a full length CD before the end of the year.
