Things To Do In San Diego: September 29-30, 2011

What an amazing week this has been! I feel so loved, so thank you for all of the birthday messages, tweets, facebook wall postings, dinners, shots, and a MASSIVE thank to my awesome friends at the Hard Rock Hotel. I'm in my room right now with my sisters and nieces, they delivered birthday cake, snacks and beer to my room, and we're gonna go spend a little time at the pool before I head to the Casbah for SoundDiego Live at the Casbah. Doors are at 7 pm and we have far more RSVPs than capacity, so get there early and plan on staying late! Matt, you're awesome and I'm eternally grateful. See you all tonight!!

Tonight: Release The Sunbird vs. AA Bondy

I really hate when there are two shows that I love that make me have to choose but tonight, AA Bondy is at the Casbah while Release The Sunbird is at the Soda Bar. You gotta make a choice, but since you might not be familiar, Release The Sunbird is the side project of Zack Rogue of Rogue Wave. There are plenty of tickets for both shows, so take your pick.

Thank you a million times for all of the sweet birthday wishes and I can happily say it is off to a great start. This Thursday: SoundDiego Live At The Casbah

We're just a couple days away from this month's installment of SoundDiego Live! This Thursday, we're taking over the Casbah with free food from Gaglione Brothers, free beer from 7-8pm from Cold Spring Brewing Co., and a great lineup of music with Dead Feather Moon, The Get Down Automatic, and the winner of our Garage To Glory competition. And since that will all wrap up relatively early, Jesse LaMonaca will take the stage after Dead Feather Moon to keep the night going a little bit longer.

Check out this video of Dead Feather Moon from SoundSystem, then make sure you RSVP to the event here or just click on the flyer.

THE HORRORS W/ The Stepkids FRIDAY 9.16.11 CASBAH

As the droves of San Diegans were descending upon Spreckels Theatre downtown Friday night for the first of two sold out shows from Bon Iver, I was headed to the Casbah to see the sold out Horrors show. It's kind of funny how both Casbah presents shows were polar opposites, the sweet sultry vocals of Justin Vernon compared to the dark menacing vocals of Faris Badwin. A contrast of heaven and hell, if you will.

I showed up to the Casbah about 5 minutes into The Stepkids set and went straight in, as I greeted Faris Badwan from the Horrors with a hello and handshake I cringed a little bit. The jazz influenced space jammy psychedelic tunes coming from the stage were just a little too much for me, especially with a white sheet behind them and projections being strewn across their bodies by ex San Diegan David Khan. The first song I heard was probably close to 8 minutes long with a 4-5 minute guitar solo in the middle. Someone tipped me that he was Alicia Keys touring guitarist, which would make a lot of sense. Don't get me wrong, they were entertaining but not my cup of tea and definitely not the reason I was there. They'll be back Sunday October 30th at Soda Bar with Trap Gold so go see for yourself.

One thing I noticed about this night was the lack of prominent faces in the SD music scene, no one was to be found ... the Art Fag set, CityBeat heads, nobody. Instead it was a handful of familiar faces and the spattering of 40-50 somethings with the usual "bros and hoes" mixed in, really random crowd for a show of this caliber. After an hour long interlude, the main room quickly filled up with everyone clamoring for a spot. Forget the spidery androgynous demeanor and spazzy mannerisms - these guys bring it when it comes to live performance, pure and simple. Their new album is a brilliant piece of work, a considerable triumph over their previous and an exciting sampling of their creative evolution. The band opened with the first song off the new album Skying called "Changing The Rain", fearlessly putting their newest foot forward in a challenge to those hung up on the band's earlier sounds. We took the evolution in stride; however, we were delightfully treated with the Primary Colours standout "Who Can Say"played second in the set, bodies writhing in motion, sweat already beginning to pour from peoples pores so early in the set. The night was young and as I was already thrilled at what I had witnessed, they moved back to Skying with "I Can See Through You". The song seemed to be a crowd pleaser and most of the attendees knew every single word to the new album. For the remainder of the night the Horrors flipped back and forth between Skying and Primary Colours leaving out any songs from 2007's Strange House. My favorite of the night would have to be a tripped out version of "Scarlet Fields" in which they had replaced the synths for guitars. If you weren't in attendance this time, the next time they return I'd definitely recommend you going. Loud, dark, brooding, perfectionists, are all words I would use to describe what I had bestowed upon me. This is a band with some serious staying power-- I remember picking up the debut EP in the fall of 2006 and to see their progression at such a young age is quite remarkable. I raise my glass to Horrors and I am proud to be a fan. Special thanks to the Casbah, the guys from Hotel St. George, Rosemary Bystrak, and Donna Chang.

Here's the entire set list:

Halloran Reveals SoundSystem (((*)))

[I wrote this blog post on August 17, but didn't want to post without Halloran's consent. In light of the announcement today that he'll be hosting Loudspeaker and a new show, FTW, when he returns to 91X on October 2, I remembered that it was just sitting in my queue, and since George Varga mentioned it, he said it's okay to talk about, so here's my original post. Halloran says the show has been picked up to air on TV. Broadcasts are expected to begin in late October. -rosey]

A few weeks ago, my friends at Gaglione Brothers hosted a small party at their Mission Gorge location to celebrate the one year anniversary of the store. Along with their delicious garlic fries and samples of their amazing cheesesteaks, I was hanging outside with Michael Halloran and his family catching up on...well, everything, I guess. Conversation is never reduced to small talk with Hal. Anyway, he was telling me about a project he's been working on but told me I wasn't allowed to say anything until the time was right. I believe he said something to the effect of me having a big mouth and anything he tells me would be blabbed all over the internet before we were finished talking. I promised to keep it quiet, but now it's out...it was on facebook, the site is up (in beta) and the Vimeo Channel has been unlocked from the private setting, so I guess it's okay to spread the good word.

CityBeat's Best Of San Diego: Voting Ends Today!

Today is the last day to vote for Citybeat's Best Of San Diego Readers' Choice Poll. This here website is nominated in the "Best Local Music Blog" category with my friends at Owl & Bear. There are too many things and people I love who are nominated to mention them all, but the Casbah is in there a couple times, as are Riviera and Starlite. The Local Pyle is on there, and consider me biased, but I had to write in West Coast Tavern for best brunch and added Chef Eli Freebairn to the best chef category.

It takes a while to get through and you should vote in as many categories as you can (though why the hell would I know about best spray tans?). I always think these things are a little silly, they should be called "favorites" not "best" because few people have experienced all nominees in a specific category, but the announcements are usually made at a really fun party with free food and booze. So yeah. Go vote. (voting ends at midnight, The 2011 Best of San Diego winners will be announced in San Diego CityBeat and on sdcitybeat.com on Wednesday, October 19).

Things To Do In San Diego: September 26, 2011

It's my birthday week and as promised, I already took care of all of the listings through the weekend so I don't have to worry about them later when I celebrate at AA Bondy on my actual birthday, at SoundDiego Live on Thursday, and at a little shindig on Saturday at URBN in North Park (4 pm...consider this your invitation). I'm also hugely excited because I have a room at the Hard Rock Hotel on Thursday night after the SoundDiego party. Woot!! I will not let turning 35 slow me down. Not all venue calendars were updated, so let me know if I missed anything.

Don't Sleep SD - Neon Indian (w/Com Truise) at the Belly Up 9/27

How lucky are we tomorrow night?! We are getting a show that is usually reserved for the likes of LA, SF, CHI and NYC. Alan Palomo (quite possibly one of the best Mexican producers of our modern dance music era) is bringing his electro/dream rock outfit Neon Indian to north county to serenade us with straight up booty shaking music from the future! Get ready for a dizzying array of synths, lazers and video game samples as Neon Indian will give you plenty of reasons to dance like it's your 1986 senior prom. Check out the new video for Polish Girl here.

Now if Neon Indian wasn't enough to get you out on a Tuesday night, new Ghostly Records signing COM TRUISE will be opening up! Yes, that's right, the man that sounds like he's producing music from inside a TRON arcade game will be gracing us with his warm, synthy beats. I have been waiting to see him for a long time and I'm really excited about this one. If you are a fan of Boards of Canada than this will be one of your new favorite artists. Check out the video for his track Sun Dripped, one of my favorites here.

Conclusion: Come to Belly Up tomorrow, see two incredible electronic artists, have mind blown, drink, be merry. See you there.

Meat Puppets @ Casbah

[I was looking for an old blog post and came across this unpublished post from Philip from JUNE. I didn't realize it was there. Sorry to Phil for not ever posting. For more of his photos from the show, click on 'keep on reading' at the bottom -rosey]

Halloran Returns To 91X

I really planned on sleeping in, but couldn't resist checking email while letting Pascha out to handle her business and I just thought I had to share this with you before I crawl back into bed: Michael Halloran is going back on the air at 91X. He'll be the new host of Loudspeaker after the spot was left vacant when Rowley accepted an amazing opportunity at Slacker. As you can read in the full press release below, Hal will also have a new program called "FTW", certainly a spin on "FTP" which he started at 94/9 years ago but is currently hosted by Tim Pyles from 7-8pm on Sundays. Pyles and Halloran will then go head to head on their respective local shows from 8-10pm. Having Hal back on the air is a smart move on all sides and certainly will be an outlet to pimp some visibility for that other thing that Mike's been working on that I'm not sure if we're talking about yet. Congrats to 91X and Halloran. Sundays just got a little bit more interesting.

Press Release:

Mike Halloran will return to the airwaves on San Diego alternative rock station 91X (XTRA-FM, 91.1) beginning this Sunday, October 2 as the permanent new host of “Loudspeaker,” San Diego’s longest running radio program dedicated to local music.

Loudspeaker will air 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday nights. Immediately following, Halloran will also air a new program from 9:00 to 10:00 P.M. on Sunday called “FTW.” The free-form program will adopt a “no rules, no gimmicks” moniker, driven by the unpredictability and immeasurable music knowledge Halloran is known for.

“I am honored to take part in the ongoing resurgence of my first home and my first love in San Diego, 91X,” says Halloran. “Oddly enough, October 2 is two days before the 25th anniversary of my original start date of October 4, 1986. Seems like yesterday, not last century.”

“Simply put, Mike is the perfect host for Loudspeaker as well as our new musical brainchild “FTW.” New music, unreleased music, and tasty nuggets from the 91X archives,” says 91X Program Director Garrett Capone. “We are absolutely stoked to welcome Mike back to the 91X family and I assure you that San Diego radio on Sunday nights will never be the same!”

Bright Eyes & Kurt Vile at Soma, 9.21.2011

Wednesday night was the Bright Eyes show at SOMA. I took my friend Nick who has done work with Conor and played in Neva Denova and is all tied into that little Saddle Creek circle, so I was a little surprised that Conor was back to his reclusive ways and wasn't backstage at all before or after his set. Bummer. It was still an awesome show, especially when during their final song, he requested someone on timpani and that someone ended up being Tim Pyles. I was by the soundboard and Matt made sure I caught Tim on video. These are some of my shakiest videos ever...the further from the subject, the more dramatic any movement on my little handheld, but hopefully you enjoy them nonetheless.

GROUPLOVE September 24th, 2011 at House of Blues with Two Door Cinema Club and The Lonely Forest

Courtesy of Grouplove and Atlantic Records

Despite the California prohibition on using cell phones while driving, I have been reaching for my phone’s music discovery app more and more on my drives home. One of my recent finds was GROUPLOVE, a dynamic five piece band whose single “Colours” has been receiving plenty of radio play. Their first full length album Never Trust a Happy Song was just released on September 13th while they have been out on a headlining tour. They have been receiving lots of press and acclaim due to celebrated festival performances at Outside Lands and Lollapalooza as well as an appearance last night on Conan to perform their single.
The band has taken a short break from their headlining tour to support Two Door Cinema Club ending in San Diego tomorrow September 24th at the House of Blues with The Lonely Forest opening. GROUPLOVE’s bouncy and optimistic energy does well to compliment Two Door Cinema Club’s jittery dance rock vibes to keep every one’s feet moving all night long. Doors open at 8 P.M. and tickets are still on sale here. You can watch after the jump their music video for the single "Colours" and their performance on Conan.

Things To Do In San Diego: September 22, 2011

Last night with Bright Eyes was so awesome but today I'm fighting a cold that I felt coming on earlier this week but ignored. I'm sure last night's tequila just helped it take over my body. Hopefully I can rest up and still be able to make it to the Hard Rock Hotel tonight for MaryJane's Underground with The Fling and The Short Eyes. If you were wondering about the blog tantrum I threw last week, it was because I found out West Coast Tavern was canceling their Thursday night live music because very few people ever bothered to show up. So yeah, I was pissed. When you're "dating the scene" as Tim Pyles likes to say, sometimes the scene will break your heart (and yank your income). Now I'm sick and I don't know when I'll get around to the weekend listings because my eyeballs feel like they might explode from looking at this screen. Maybe at some point. For now, here are tonight's listings.

Handsome Furs w/ Suuns @ Casbah- 09.01.11

Early September brought a trio of acts to the Casbah for a show that picked up steam as the night went on. Portland (OR)- based Talkdemonic opened up with their special brand of instrumental electronica (I was outside during their set and unfortunately didn't make it inside in time to get any pix. They sounded great from the patio though). Suuns of Montreal, Quebec followed up with a straight-to-the-point set of drone-y art rock. Behind the icy stare of lead man Ben Shemie the four-piece ripped through a 45 minute set under the glare of bright red light. Having previously experienced them only via their debut LP Zeroes QC, their live show is a force to be reckoned with.

Suuns:

Headliner Handsome Furs brought the energy level up multiple notches as they took the stage and immediately jumped in to an outstanding set relying almost exclusively on their newest album Sound Kapital. Be it the apparent assistance of Bolivian marching powder or maybe just them feeding off the energy of the crowd, husband and wife duo Dan Boeckner (also of Wolf Parade) and Alexei Perry were in constant motion. Make no mistake- the music was exceptionally executed and kept the crowd moving, but the show was the whirling dervish on stage. Dan did his part to keep everything moving in linear fashion while Alexei provided the visual entertainment, alternately stalking, jumping and crawling all over the stage. It was clear that their tour-happy ways have allowed them to fine-tune both the musical performance and their stage presence as these elements combined to produce one of the better shows the Casbah has seen this year.

Save The Date: SoundDiego Live at the Casbah - 9.29/2011

Earlier this spring, I programmed a SoundDiego Live show at Anthology with The Blackout Party and Jesse LaMonaca and the Dime Novels. It was an awesome show, but after that, I was in a meeting with Tim Mays and he asked why we hadn't ever done a SoundDiego Live show at the Casbah. I explained that planning is hard when the Casbah is booked out so far in advance and SoundDiego generally looks for a last Thursday of the month that wouldn't get bumped. Still, we tentatively locked in September 29. Perfect, I thought, it can double as my birthday party.

Well, the time is here and we have our big show locked in for next Thursday, and not only will I be celebrating my birthday (a day late, but at my age, who really cares?), but Sean and Gwen from SoundDiego and Cory from Gaglione Brothers, who'll be bringing some free food.

We've got Dead Feather Moon, The Get Down Automatic, and the winner of our 2nd "Garage to Glory" contest. I'm also honored that Robin Roth will be hosting. As always, the party is free and we'll have free ColdSpring beer for the first hour to wash down those free cheesesteaks. And since the doors are at 7 and this will be a bit early for the Casbah, I'm working on some more musical guests to keep the party going after Dead Feather Moon is all wrapped up, so stay tuned.

Click on the flyer to RSVP to NBC, and let us know you're coming on Facebook, too!

Graffiti6 at House of Blues, 9.19.2011

I get so much music sent to me that sometimes I just don't have the time to listen. And I go to so many shows that sometimes I'll go blindly. Sadly, this means sometimes I'll go to one show over another based on buzz or bar preference or sometimes based on a name.

Last night I didn't have any idea what to expect from Graffiti6 except that I knew they played X-Fest earlier this summer, I wasn't particularly moved by their name, and I only listened to a few tunes Jeff played on the way to the show. "This show might not change your life, but it's free and at least it's something to do," he said.

So let's just say I went to the show with no expectations, and when we arrived around 8, the doors hadn't opened. By 8:30, there were six people there. I searched my blackberry and found a press release.:
Get ready to fall in love with Graffiti6 as they come through San Diego on September 19th playing House Of Blues!!

Graffiti6 is a collaboration between singer-songwriter Jamie Scott and songwriter-producer TommyD, both London-born multi-instrumentalists who began making music together in 2009 and decided to call the resulting collaboration Graffiti6.
...
Graffiti6’s upcoming album Colours — a genre-defying blend of pop, psychedelia, R&B, and British Northern Soul that fully capitalizes on the soaring uplift of Jamie Scott’s emotionally transparent voice and gift for melody and TommyD’s irresistible rhythms and inventive production.

Yes, this is sometimes how I do my research. 30 minutes before the band takes the stage. Fortunately when Graffiti6 started at 9, more people arrived, and I think the 30 or 40 of us there were certainly thrilled at the hour+ show we got. I was just going to shoot a couple photos, maybe capture a couple videos. Instead, I filmed the whole set (minus one song for battery changes) and absolutely loved the band. There was definitely a One Eskimo vibe to singer Jaime Scott and I wish my camera fully captured the intricate beauty of his vocals. How does this kid from the UK have so much soul?

Anyway, the band was awesome with grooving bass lines and percussion, beautiful and fitting keyboard flourishes, and the two guitars backed with occasional synth tracks kept the music upbeat without devolving into the resurrected 80s thing that everyone is doing that really drives me up the wall. I have to say my only wish for the night was that it was more like a Casbah show...the band should've been 'shaking hands and kissing babies' and meeting and greeting everyone in the room before and after the show to really make the extra impact on the few people there so they run and tell all of their friends about the awesome new band they saw, so the next time they come around, there will be a line out the door. But maybe there will be anyway. This band was that good.

YouTube changed their playlist settings on me, so you have to click the >| 'next' button on the youtube nav bar to go from video to video. They're in the order of the setlist. Foxes was the only song I missed. Be sure especially to check out "This Man", "Never Look Back", and their very unique cover of "Best Friend". Also, apologies for the smurf lighting and everyone looking like they're from Avatar. That room just blows for lighting.

Ryan Adams: Ashes & Fire (Out October 11)

If you like to hear Ryan Adams rock, go check out III/IV on his SoundCloud and feel free to crank it up because the forthcoming (October 11) Ashes & Fire is not the record for you. But if you're like me, and your Ryan Adams collection goes back to Whiskeytown and you love all the sad bastard ballads more than the rockers, Ashes & Fire is your dream album. With 12 tracks, the record comes in around 48 minutes. Songs about being at the very end of your rope ("Save Me") and commitment ("I Love You But I don't Know What To Say") and being there for another person ("Come Home") are all there and completely relatable. These tracks are less countrified than Cold Roses or his work with The Cardinals, but still have familiar layers of pedal steel, piano, and organ while Ryan plucks his guitar to create a beautiful and emotionally raw record that keeps him firmly in place as one of my all time favorites.

Invisible Riverside by ryanadams

Lucky Now by ryanadams

Follow Ryan Adams and Pax-Am on Facebook. They've been releasing tracks, videos, and acoustic performances of some older tunes, all leading up to the release on October 11.

The record can be preordered here and will begin shipping on 10/6 and icludes a full record download the day of the release as well as entry into weekly drawings for bonus prizes. Ryan Adams performs at the Balboa Theatre on the day the record is released. The show is sold out, but you might wanna keep an eye out for production hold ticket releases the day before or the day of the show.

Things To Do In San Diego: September 19, 2011

A few things for tonight...the Thievery Corporation show that was supposed to be on 9/8 was rescheduled because of the blackout. Then last night, for the rescheduled show, there was a flood in the electrical room at the House of Blues, so the show was once again postponed. Hopefully third time is a charm and the show will finally happen tonight. AM & Shawn Lee are not on this show, instead Inspired Flight is playing. Also, the Graffiti6 show at the House of Blues (not sure if it's in the Delta Room, 5th Avenue Sidestage, or Salvation Alley) is now free.

The Kooks - FM 94/9 Session

The Kooks are on a small promotional tour in support of their new release, Junk of the Heart, which means they're travelling to record stores and random spots to tease their new material. They played on Sunday for FM 94/9 at Bird's Surf Shed. The band performed a mere four songs, but judging by the amount of people who showed up (and were still showing up after it was already over), I'd say people have been waiting for this one for a while. I was just happy to hear them sing my name in the first song. As a kid, I was always sad at souvenir shops that the keychains and monogrammed tchotchkes never had my name, in adulthood this comes in a lack of song with Rosie, Rosey, or Rosemary. So thanks to The Kooks. I dig my new song.

Use the >| along the bottom of the YouTube window to see the rest of the videos.

There really are no words for how awesome Bon Iver and Other Lives were this weekend. I'll be posting photos on SoundDiego and you can also see them on my Facebook Page. Thanks to the Casbah, Other Lives, Justin and crew, Phil, Jesse, Jeff, and all of the awesome tweets and facebook messages for picking me up this weekend when I was really, really down. I'm going into this week really trying to figure my shit out, but at least for the weekend, I remembered why I do all of this. Enjoy the video playlist from Saturday night. Click the >| button to jump from video to video.

Playlist videos:

Things To Do In San Diego: September 16-18, 2011

I am spent. Seriously. I give all my energy to the music scene, and sometimes that is the best feeling in the world, but today I feel kicked in the gut eighteen times over and it is taking everything in me not to just throw in the towel completely. I'm not doing listings this weekend because the 7 hours it takes me is starting to feel like completely wasted time. I don't get paid for this shit and sometimes that is incredibly frustrating. Like this weekend. So pick up CityBeat or the Reader and figure it out for yourself. Sorry. I need a fucking break.

Due to popular demand, world-renowned electronic music producer/performer deadmau5 will now be bringing his Meowingtons Hax tour to downtown San Diego's PETCO Park Friday, October 28. Named after his cat Professor Meowingtons, deadmau5's Meowingtons Hax tour encompasses over 40 shows across North America and made its debut at Lollapalooza in Chicago where SPIN.com SPIN hailed it as the #1 set at the festival. It features incredible production—a menagerie of lights and LED (check out a clip from Lolla here: VIMEO—which complements the electronic artist's live repertoire of hits, classic cuts and brand new music. During his set, deadmau5 is joined by his mau5trap label artist vocalist SOFI on "Sofi Needs a Ladder" and "One Trick Pony." (Look for her Locked and Loaded EP to be released in October). The evening also features sets from his mau5trap label artists Tommy Lee & Aero and Feed Me with SOFI, along with special guest Sweden's Avicii for his only appearance on the tour.

Meanwhile, Ultra Music—deadmau5's North American label—has made available deadmau5-LIVE @ EARL'S COURT, a live DVD that captures deadmau5's 2010 performance as the first electronic artist ever to sell out London's historic 19,000-capacity Earl's Court. The package includes the hour-long performance with the electronic artist performing a selection of his songs from his catalog enhanced by captivating visuals and of course his one-of-a-kind LED face mau5head all helmed from his cube. Check out the trailer at: HERE.

There is also the Meowingtons Hax tour trax album via mau5trap. The Beatport exclusive compilation features new and exclusive tracks from deadmau5 and a host of artists featured on the tour, as well as a selection of tracks from new additions to the label that you can expect to hear a lot more from in the coming months: Skrillex, Feed Me, Tommy Lee & Aero, Excision & Datsik, Zedd, Moguai featuring SOFI, Al Bizzare and James Njie. Things To Do In San Diego: September 15, 2011

Earlier today I saw a comment on Facebook by a promoter that support for the Arts is down in San Diego. I have to disagree. I think there's plenty of support, it's just spread really thin among all of our available choices. Yes, it bums me out when shows are underattended, but I think we do a pretty good job of getting bodies off the couch and to shows and galleries and restaurants. Maybe last week's blackout will make everyone do the same this week...turn off the lights and kill your television and go experience all that San Diego has to offer.

This Weekend: Bon Iver & Other Lives @ Spreckels

I know, I know, these shows both sold out in less than an hour combined, but let me let you in on a little secret (for those of you who might not already know this). When big bands tour, generally a certain number of tickets are set aside for each show among the promoter, the venue, and the bands performing. Sometimes it's just a few, sometimes it's hundreds (which major acts like Bon Jovi and Britney Spears then resell at ridonkulous prices for profits to secondary ticketers like StubHub). I don't know how Bon Iver and Other Lives fare in this, but with every other show I've been to at Spreckels, "production holds" and "obstructed view" seats have been released at noon the day of the show. I believe some tickets for Friday might have actually been released today, but you might wanna try the box office tomorrow or Saturday if you're looking for tickets to either show.

But what I really want to tell you is that if you already have tickets, don't casually show up to the show when you think Bon Iver is gonna start because you DO NOT WANT to miss Other Lives. The blew everyone away that was in the room when they played the Soda Bar earlier this year, then again at the Casbah, and I even went out to Vegas to see them during their residency at the Cosmopolitan. Trust me.
