Things To Do In San Diego: September 3, 2011

I don't know about you, but my weekend is off to a great start. Yesterday I woke up relatively early to get all the listings done here and for NBC before heading off to IDentity Festival at Cricket. It was interesting to say the least, and I know that is a huge scene, but I'll stick to my indie rock, thank you very much. The cousin I visited in New York earlier this summer is here for the weekend, so we had some good family time after the festival before I made my way to Bar Pink for Waters and Mister Heavenly. I missed Little White Teeth but the other bands were great and I was happy to see Van from Waters look so happy and loose onstage. The night got even more interesting as I bumped into some high school friends who pulled me into True North for a quick shot and a beer. I can now say that I've been there on a Friday night, jumping the VIP line, no less. After that, there was nothing left to do except head to Eleven to catch Tiltwheel play the final slot of the night for Awesomefest. Super good times there and after a couple friends came over and hung out for a couple hours. So yeah. That was just Friday. Let's see what family and musical adventures await me today.
