Monday Night: Three Mile Pilot @ The Griffin

Three Mile Pilot, Vampires @ The Griffin. Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm. $20, Buy Tickets

Monday nights are always pretty great here in San Diego because you can always trust the Tim Pyles has put something cool together for Anti-Monday League at the Casbah, but tonight you might want to switch things up a bit because Daydream Nation has returned to San Diego and is bringing some great shows including Monday night with Three Mile Pilot and Vampires. The show is $20 and when I spoke to Joe at the Griffin early on Sunday night, he mentioned that there were tickets still available but he expected the show would sell out with a walk up crowd. Why risk it? Just grab your tickets in advance and then you won't have to worry about it being sold out when you arrive. If you're one of the lucky ones with a Black Card, they'll be honored for tonight's show. Me and D will be there and you should be, too!!

Who Will Release Black Heart Procession & Three Mile Pilot Records?

It was sad news in February when Touch & Go Records announced that they would cease the distribution arm of their operation. It was also originally stated that the actual label would stop releasing music, but that statement has been revised to a sort of "we will when we can". The full story was in Pitchfork in February and was so widely commented on in music blogs that I didn't mention it here. Now I have occasion to do so.

While checking my MySpace pages I came across a blog post (posted March 9) from Pall Jenkins of Black Heart Procession and Three Mile Pilot. I am reposting here because I hope that there is someone reading this that can step up and help out.

hey this is pall--- anyone want or know anyone who wants to release the new black heart record --- just let us know --- we need a good company --- touch and go is no longer releasing new records --- so all the bands have to find new homes -- sad times --

You can contact Pall through the MySpace page: The Black Heart Procession

Three Mile Pilot Poster Series #3

This is the third and final poster from Dave Lively for the Three Mile Pilot shows. I've almost sold out of the first one, and expect a rush after the show. They even refilled the ATM so people can get cash for merch.

Three Mile Pilot Poster Series #2

Here's the second poster from the Three Mile Pilot poster series. Last night's show was incredible despite minor food poisoning or something that made me completely ill. I sprung back and have enjoyed listening to Christmas Island, Calico Horse and Kill Me Tomorrow from the patio. Three Mile Pilot will be taking the stage any second now and the crowd is waiting anxiously.

Posters are $20 and available at the shows.

Three Mile Pilot Poster Series: #1

There is no way for my photography to do this poster any justice, but here's the first of the Three Mile Pilot poster series. They are hand screened and numbered and available at the shows for $20.

These are, like the Casbah posters, designed by Dave Lively. You can see more of his work at Beach Ball of Death.
