CoViD-19 San Diego Stays In Red Tier | Playgrounds Reopen With New Guidelines | Governor Bans Rodenticides | President Tells White Supremacists To "Stand By"

A view from the roof of North Parking (Taken 9.29.2020)

The debate was so painful to watch. If the moderator can't control the mics of the participants than Biden shouldn't agree to do another one.
I spent the day on the roof of the North Park parking structure helping coordinate the virtual Battle of the Bands. It was a little bit crazy but we got it done and you'll be able to watch and vote here
After watching the debate, not a chance I'm listening to the County Board of Supervisors or Dr. Ghaly's state health report, but just know that Michael was accurate that the County would hit 7.2 cases per 100k cases, but it appears that we passed the median tests per 100k residents, which gives an adjustment factor below 1, meaning they were able to mathematically adjust the county at 6.7 cases per 100k residents. So that means we're staying red through at least October 13th. Today's stats and news after the jump

Coming Soon: North Park Live! - Saturday, November 30th

I've been super busy lately but I couldn't really talk about it until it was all locked in and confirmed, but I'm happy that I've been asked to do a couple projects with North Park Main Street. The first of those is North Park Live, an event in conjunction with Small Business Saturday presented by My Point Credit Union.
There will be shopping and dining specials, live art, and lots of free live music spread across numerous venues. I'm pleased to share that among the artists, you'll be able to catch Erik Canzona, Michael McGraw, Heather Marie, Nena Anderson, Gaby Aparicio, TJ, Nate Donnis, Luc Trahand, Shelbi Bennett, and Julia Sage. Lock the date into your calendar and make sure if you're gonna spend money this holiday season, to consider shopping local.

North Park Festival of Arts 2019 Set Times

Not gonna lie. It took me way too long to track down these set times. I realize they're all listed out at ExploreNorthPark.com, but why these can't be found in one organized place is beyond me. So I found three stages and thought I'd post the set times here to reference on Saturday. Find them after the jump.

Upcoming Shows at Observatory North Park (Updated 12.21)

I'm gonna keep it fast. For one, the Observatory added a whole slew of shows: Tuxedo (1/22), Tiger Army (2/11), Stick Figure (3/10), Glassjaw (3/24), and comedian Jim Breuer (5/6). I know there's a conflict on 1/22, the bosses are working that out. But the more important thing I wanted to tell you is that we had to migrate the Observatory newsletter to a new platform, and even if you were getting the newsletter before, you might not get it anymore. Maybe that is okay with you since you know I always update here, but for presales and show announcements and such, I'd recommend just making sure that you sign up for the new list. It's in the top right corner of the Observatory site. I'm the one who sends this stuff out, so I promise we're not sharing the list or sending a crazy amount of announcements. 2016 shows are after the jump.

Update: Also added- The Game (1/10)

12/26 RJ, 6pm, All Ages (doors changed from 7pm to 6pm)

12/28 Duke Dumont, 10pm, 18+

12/29 Chet Faker, 7pm, All Ages (SOLD OUT)

Things To Do In San Diego: Monday, October 26-Thursday, October 30, 2015

It was definitely a great weekend. On Friday night I got to catch Kero Kero Bonito at Soda Bar and Bully at the Hideout as I'd planned, and then I worked for Mudhoney on Saturday and Rozzi Crane on Sunday. My niece had an awesome belated birthday at Mission Bay, so everyone took their turns on kayaks and paddleboards and I think everyone is looking forward to the next time we can do that. This week slows down a lot, but obviously picks up this weekend for Halloween and all the awesome Dia De Los Muertos celebrations around town, too. Monday through Thursday archives are after the jump.

If you're ppolitically minded, the Official Bernie Sanders San Diego Kickoff is happening on Wednesday night at the Obsevatory. You can see details and RSVP here. September shows and beyond are after the jump.
