I'll be running around, but hope to bump into lots of friends and neighbors throughout the day. See the schedules below to plot out your day!

Coming Soon: North Park Live! - Saturday, November 30th

I've been super busy lately but I couldn't really talk about it until it was all locked in and confirmed, but I'm happy that I've been asked to do a couple projects with North Park Main Street. The first of those is North Park Live, an event in conjunction with Small Business Saturday presented by My Point Credit Union.
There will be shopping and dining specials, live art, and lots of free live music spread across numerous venues. I'm pleased to share that among the artists, you'll be able to catch Erik Canzona, Michael McGraw, Heather Marie, Nena Anderson, Gaby Aparicio, TJ, Nate Donnis, Luc Trahand, Shelbi Bennett, and Julia Sage. Lock the date into your calendar and make sure if you're gonna spend money this holiday season, to consider shopping local.

North Park Festival of Arts 2019 Set Times

Not gonna lie. It took me way too long to track down these set times. I realize they're all listed out at ExploreNorthPark.com, but why these can't be found in one organized place is beyond me. So I found three stages and thought I'd post the set times here to reference on Saturday. Find them after the jump.

North Park Goes Big For World Cup 2014

I got this email back in November:

Bar and Restaurant owners in North Park are creating a World Cup FanZone in the heart of North Park, at 30th & University, with "Host Venues" showing all games throughout the month-long tournament. Festivites include a family-oriented "Kick-Off" street fair on June 8, 2014, to include a youth parade of nations, mini soccer tournament, skill activities, and live music. Final game to be shown on big screens placed on 30th Street during Closing Festival; also to include food vendors and beer garden...

It appears things have scaled back a bit (or else I completely missed the kick-off street fair which is totally plausible with the week I had last week), but over 20 venues in North Park will be broadcasting the World Cup games. Obviously hours and locations vary dependent on game times, but you can follow along and make your own schedule by checking out the official website here. There's more information from April in Uptown News. Be sure to hashtag #WCNP2014 as your out and about enjoying the games so fellow soccer lovers (and stalkers) can find you!

Be sure to like the page on FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/WorldCupNorthPark
and Follow/Tag them on Twitter: https://twitter.com/WCNP2014  @WCNP2014 because a few people put in a lot of time to make this sweet possibility happen in our neighborhood.

UPDATE (6/12/14): Big news on opening day! With the help of the City of San Diego and North Park Main Street, several business owners in North Park, including Bar Pink, The OfficeBARSD, Caffe Calabria, Coin-Op Game Room, Waypoint Public, West Coast Tavern, Ritual Tavern, Lefty's, Rufskin, Fat Boys, and U-31, have pitched in to close down 30th St. and put a 20' wide jumbotron on the street for the World FIFA World Cup final match on July 13! It will be all-ages and free to the public!

    Bar Pink

May 19, 2013: North Park Festival of Arts Stage Lineups and Set Times

The North Park Festival of Arts is finally here! I'm so excited about my stage performers and also excited to get a chunk of time back in my life. But all the work and meetings and emails and time are totally worth it and I hope everyone comes down to say hi and check out the amazing talent, the great vendors, and all of the unique art. So that you can access the lineups from your mobile devices, I've posted all of the set times after the jump. Also a heads up that there are two whisky tasting events at Seven Grand, the Craft Beer Block (which is going to sell out), and the Beer Garden where the Bar Pink Stage is located.

North Park Festival of Arts Main Stage Lineup

This year's North Park Festival of Arts is next month and though lineups were supposed to all be announced together, some people got a little over excited and have been announcing their participation. So I figure I might as well just spill the beans, especially because I am *SO EXCITED* about this year's lineup. This is just the Main Stage lineup, I'll add Dang's Bar Pink Beer Garden Stage lineup when I get the go ahead, but it is pretty sick, too. The times might be adjusted slightly, but this is more or less what you can expect.

11-11:40 School of Rock San Diego Covers set
11:50-12:30 Chess Wars (new project of Dustin Lothspeich of Old Tiger & Jake Najor of The Styletones)
    Craft Mafia fashion show
    1-1:40 Midnight Pine
1:50-2:30 Michael McGraw & The Butchers
2:40-3:20 Bulletins (new project of Lorelei Plotczyk of Film School, Susie, Gharemani, Itai Faierman)
    Craft Mafia doggy fashion show
    3:50-4:30 I*Wish*I
    4:40-5:45 The Palace Ballroom

The North Park Festival of Arts is FREE and ALL AGES (except for the beer garden and the ticketed Craft Beer Block, which are both 21+) and takes place on Saturday, May 18. Mark your calendars!!

A Day In The Life of North Park

My bestie Kristian and his company, MySMN, put together another video for North Park Main Street highlighting the neighborhood of North Park. It's super cute and definitely a reminder of why we live here (or near here). They used Jesse LaMonaca's "Other Side of the World" for the soundtrack, too. Check it out:

Rosey's Diary: San Diego, Livin' The Dream

It's been a couple weeks since I've written a diary post, so I'll try and catch up with the things I've forgotten to post or failed to mention since the last post (10.3.2012), but you how these get all long winded and such...to be perfectly honest, I write them more for myself than for you anyway, but if you have any interest, click 'read more' below. Oh, and remember how I told you that North Park was named the #13th hippest neighborhood in the country? My friends Pat & Kristian and their team and My SMN put together this cool little video series for North Park Main Street after getting a flood of media requests from people all over the country (and internationally) whose interest was piqued by the designation. You can see my nephew, Baby Ziggy, at 1:35.
