Loud + Clear Records Celebrates 10 Years

A couple weeks ago, I ran into Brad Lee at the Casbah. "I have a package for you," he said. "I bet you do." After I realized he wasn't coming on to me, I remembered that Loud + Clear Records was celebrating 10 years of being an awesome San Diego based label. The very next morning, I found a box on my doorstep chock full of CDs and records. It is an amazing collection of music and I couldn't wait to break into it, with CD releases by  Via Satellite, Goodbye Blue Monday, John Meeks, to name a few. It also had some vinyl from Mrs. Magician, Writer, Chairs Missing and Goodbye Blue Monday. I'll check my collection and do a giveaway for some of these because several of them are duplicates of my own collection.

Anyway, to celebrate 10 years, there will be a few events around town. First, Brad Lee hits the decks as he spins some records tonight at Starlite.  Then this weekend there are two special Loud + Clear shows. On Saturday night, the celebration moves to the Casbah with Goodbye Blue Monday, Via Satellite, and Neonthief.  (BUY TICKETS HERE) Then on Sunday, you can catch stripped down sets by John Meeks, Via Satellite, and Rafter at the Luce Loft. In retrospect, maybe a little funny?

Goodbye Blue Monday posted several myspace bulletins about a stolen car and stolen gear and whatnot. I'm not exactly clear on if the car was stolen then impounded or it never was stolen, just impounded, but I know the message was definitely posted and reposted. Happy ending is that all the equipment and the car have been recovered. Glad to hear the band can proceed with their new recordings.

hey all you people out there who've messaged me about this ordeal:

the car was found, apparently all my stuff was in it.

it was then promptly impounded for expired registration, ha ....

in the end the gear is back and the car, hopefully undamaged as well.

you know i never really thought so many people would give a shit about me, and im amazed by how many messages ive received in the past 24 or something hours.

THANK YOU EVERYONE.

Gear Stolen: Goodbye Blue Monday

matt of goodbye blue monday's girlfriend's car was stolen this afternoon.
the vehicle was a 2000 red ford focus wagon.

from Matt:

inside that was every piece of musical gear i own. everything. literally.

be on the look out for:
1995 fender jaguar sunburst with modded humbuckers, black tape on the neck p/u makes it very distinct.
1999 silver sparkle squire jagmaster with dual humbuckers
1970's Musicman hd 130 212 combo amp
all kinds of pedals i cant even begin to write down because i feel so sick.

it was stolen from the corner of Sampson and National streets in san diego between the hours of 11:30 AM and 2:30PM on Oct. 2 2007.

what could i have done to deserve this?

please repost. re-email, tell people, everything. for those of you who know me, you know this stuff was my life. its taken me 10 years to get this stuff and in my current economic condition i have no hope of replacing any of it.

i appreciate your support.

If you have any inormation about the vehicle or the equipment, please contact the band through their MySpace page.
