Politics: Howard Dean Book Signing

Howard Dean is appearing at Warwick’s (7812 Girard Ave. in La Jolla) today for a book-signing. The 2004 presidential candidate and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee penned Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform: How We Can Achieve Affordable Medical Care for Every American and Make Our Jobs Safer. I've read about half of it so far and as an uninsured American, it gives me hope that the healthcare reform (and insurance reform) issues will finally be dealt with in a real and seriousl way. Dean will sign copies from 4:30 to 6 p.m. 858-454-0347, www.warwicks.indiebound.com.

Check him out on The Colbert Report:

Lisa Hannigan's Colbert Report Performance

Lisa Hannigan, best known for her work/relationship with Damien Rice (until that soured), recently passed through San Diego, performing on the VooDoo Stage at the House of Blues. Unfortunately, this show was on the same night as The Airborne Toxic Event and The Henry Clay People, who played in the Delta Room at the same time, so I missed her performance. That said, if I could've been two places at once, I would've loved to catch her.

Since I did not, and since Seth Combs told me I missed an amazing performance, I thought I'd embed her Colbert performance to encourage everyone to still buy her record and hope she comes back around on tour again soon.
