Del Mar Racetrack 4 O'Clock Fridays/Summer Concert Series

With the opening of the annual San Diego County Fair next week, I thought it would be worthwhile mentioning the music events happening throughout the fair and racetrack season. The family oriented fair offers a variety of entertainers on several stages, the link to all the events can be found here. The San Diego County Fair runs from June 8 through July 4 (closed Mondays except July 1).

The popular 4 O'Clock Fridays offers 10 concerts this summer, happening at the Seaside Stage during race season. George Varga's UT preview can be found here. Suffice to say, a potpourri of artists with local favorites Pinback, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fitz and the Tantrums to name a few. Admission is included with racetrack entrance prior to the start of the day's final race. Parking at the Solana Beach train station (free) and catching a bus (also free) to the track are highly recommended.
