Zatarain's Presents Fat Tuesday at House of Blues

When it comes to Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras, I'm torn. I love the idea of a big celebration and when I was a kid it was especially rebellious growing up Catholic and having this giant binge before making sacrifices for Lent. At the same time, the commercialization of any event brings out a bunch of amateurs who use any holiday and occasion as an excuse to act like douchebags. That's why finding the right event can be so key on a night like still get to celebrate, but in a more grown up and controlled way where it's more about the environment and the food than it is about the booze. So for my Fat Tuesday, I'll be heading to the House of Blues.
