Things To Do In San Diego: October 10-11, 2013

Everyone is talking about the rain, and while conversations about the weather make me want to shoot myself, I will say that after seeing the Mission Dam nearly empty this summer, I'd be happy if it kept up for a few days. Nova is on fall break, so we've been living it up the past few days. On Tuesday we took a day trip through Ramona to Julian and back via Lake Cuyamaca. We found Harbour Farm along the way and cut some pumpkins from the vine and played in the bounce house, then we passed a brushfire on the side of a mountain, then went apple-picking at Volcan Valley Apple Farm. There are other orchards, but some charge by the bag, while others charge a per-person admission, so buyer beware. Of course, we hit up Mom's for pie in Julian, and stopped at Lake Cuyamaca on our way back, where we met a horse trainer/riding teacher named Susan who let us feed and pet her horses. The SDMA switcheroo means that we enjoyed our rainy Wednesday running errands, shopping, and checking out Halloween Superstores and curling up at home. This weekend looks promising with lots of fun activities, cool shows, and I'll be working at Brick By Brick on Friday and doing pickups with Darren's Van the rest of the weekend.
