Camper Van Beethoven & Cracker @ Belly Up 12.29 + MP3

Cracker & Camper Van Beethoven are closing out 2008 San Diego style with a show of both David Lowery fronted bands sharing the stage at the Belly Up on December 29th. The show celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Camper Van Beethoven as a band and Cracker has just finished tracking their new album to be released in 2009.

Tickets for the show are $20 advance or $22 at the door.

And to spread some holiday cheer, a holiday download from the label:

Back in 2001 Cracker co-founders David Lowery and Johnny Hickman originally wrote and recorded their holiday chestnut “Merry Christmas, Emily” as an ode to ex-girlfriends everywhere for their Forever album. When asked about the origins of the song Johnny admitted that this “was written in about an hour... both of us laughing our asses off in Tucson drunk. All the places mentioned [in the song] we were stopping at for drinks all day... In THOSE days,” he laughed.
