More Holiday/Shopping Events

I keep coming across more and more holiday events and reposting all of them here would be quite lengthy, so instead, here are some quick links to spread the holiday cheer.

Partying with a Purpose has several toy drives and events that reward your donations of toys or gift cards with great events, some with hosted drinks and food, and an opportunity to celebrate the season. They literally have an event every day this week, so check here to see if something piques your interest.

As I previously mentioned, this Saturday is the annual Kensington Tree lighting in front of Kensington Vine on Adams & Edgeware with the best Santa around. Info here.

Sunday, Thread is back at the Sheraton Harbor Island. With discounted designer duds, fashion, and adult beverages, you can actually enjoy yourself while avoiding congested malls.

For animal lovers and also on Sunday, join the pet parade in the Gaslamp followed by a Pet Expo. Registration is only $10. Info here.

Again, Sign On San Diego has a pretty exhaustive list of plenty of holiday activities here.

Oh, and one more nugget. If you're like me and want a Christmas tree but have cut back on spending, you can pick up a FREE tree this weekend at the Giant Used Car Sale at Qualcomm Stadium. I went last year and besides wandering through a car lot and meeting a couple pushy salesman who wanted me to trade my car in on the spot, it was a pretty simple process. Hopefully it rains this weekend like it did last year so you can use that as an excuse to pop in and out.
