Saturday: Grand Opening & Dedication of Downtown Public Library

Saturday sees San Diegans celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Central Library. There will be tours, music, food, and a lot of politicians shaking hands and kissing babies. For the full program of events, click here (.pdf), or just see the abbreviated events below. Note that the circulation desks won't be open, so you can't actually check out any books until Monday and it would behoove you to make sure you have an updated library card from any of the many branch libraries before you decide to check it out.
