Coming To Town

I've grown a little tired of my own voice, so apologies that beyond twitter, there's not much I have to say lately. Unfortunately that means a lot of good bands are getting ignored, so I thought I'd just do a little round up of some emails I've been getting and hopefully you take the time to check out some of the bands.

Tonight:
Dan Rockett will be debuting his amazing talents this Tuesday night at
Winston's along with his good friends DJ Blue & Danyvaad. You can listen to
Dan Rockett's music and find out about all the great things Dan Rockett has
going on at www.sonicbids.com/danrockett Dan Rockett's most recent release has members of THE MARS VOLTA, LOS LOBOS, LENNY KRAVITZ, BECK, TREY ANASTASIO BAND & many more on his new album. In 2008, Dan Rockett's talents were showcased on network TV. CBS's "Numbers" featured two of Dan Rockett's songs; Prodigal Son on the "Money For Nothing" episode and "Life Is A Dream (Ryan's Song)" on the "Guilt Trip"episode. Join us tomorrow night at Winston's for Dan Rockett's San Diego debut, you will be glad that you did.

Next Week:

Howlies (Atlanta) are playing in San Diego on Wed, July 15 (@ Soda Bar) and we'd love to have you consider them for a feature/review in connection with their debut album and full US tour.

The guys are quickly rising with their album, "Trippin' with Howlies" (produced by cult legend Kim Fowley), which has earned them a loyal following, fantastic reviews (Spin, Billboard, Paste), Top 40 CMJ radio charts, video on Fuse, Billboard's SXSW showcase, an upcoming Daytrotter session, etc.

Also, Howlies just released a video for the modern, doo-wop ballad "Aluminum Baseball Bat", and are giving away the mp3 ---> Aluminum Baseball Bat. The video is a tougue-in-cheek, one-take that captures Howlies' fun and confident vibe --> youtube.com/HowliesATL

And also next week:
Sweden's Graveyard released their self titled debut on Tee Pee Records in
February 2008. Drawing praise from critics such as David Fricke of Rolling
Stone who covered the band in his Frick's Picks column after seeing them at
SXSW "If Graveyard had made an early-Seventies private pressing LP that
didn't sell squat, the would be record collector legends."

The band has toured with the likes of Witchcraft, Clutch, The Sword and
Witch. The band performs at Bar Pink on July 19.
