- If you recall, on Friday the County held a special media briefing to warn San Diego that we could be sliding back into the purple tier. If you also recall, I was using the wrong numbers when trying to pre-assess the County's numbers per 100k because it's based on illness onset, not by positive test result dates. But today's test positivity was 373 new cases, which is nearly double what we need it to be to move into less restrictive tiers. I'm not saying we're gonna go purple, but it isn't looking good. We're definitely on the uptick with cases once again. Remember, we have to be purple for two weeks before we slide back, but it doesn't seem like we're too far away from getting there.
