Praying Mantis at Wildlife Explorers Basecamp at San Diego Zoo (Taken 3.15.22) |
I thought that I was going to skip a Tuesday post but once I open my laptop it's hard not to just do what I've been doing. Creature of habit. Plus, I was too lazy to drag my ass to the Casbah for Devotchka so what else am I gonna do but watch murder shows and read through my inboxes?
Tuesday was a pretty spectacular afternoon, as Darren and I met a friend and his 2 year old niece at the San Diego Zoo. It seemed a little less crowded than Monday and the animals weren't super active, but we spent more time in the Wildlife Explorers Basecamp and were so in awe in the remaining houses and animal habitats that we missed on Monday. Honestly, you could probably go to the Zoo and spend all day in there discovering new things or watching the naked mole rats or the orb weavers' webs. I'm hoping to get listings done quickly on Wednesday so I can go back for more. The only thing I would say is that I think the San Diego Zoo is making a mistake by not requiring, or at least increasing signage recommending masks. The rising numbers around the globe should be raising some red flags, especially because most of us who got boosters are over four months past having them available for everyone. China is locking down millions of people and the resulting work stoppages are certainly going to bring back supply issues and shortages of goods once again. Plan for the worst and hope for the best, I guess.
Stay safe out there.
