Trashcan Sinatras, Casbah, 7.28.09

I had the good fortune of catching Trashcan Sinatras for the second time in a little over a week and was once again blown away by the band. I spoke with Stevie (the keyboardist that borrowed my bottle opener last week) before the show and we chatted about their trip to Japan. In Scotland, he manages a clothing store, so this trip was his first ever to the west coast, and Japan, he said, was incredible and completely nerve-wracking. He showed me pictures of the crowd and I could see what he meant. There they played the Fuji Rock Festival, so we should feel lucky to have the band back in our 250 capacity venue.

Unfortunately I didn't get a setlist because some dude grabbed it (despite the tour manager telling me I could have it), but I will say they didn't play anything of Cake once again. It was ok, though, because how can you complain about a set over an hour and a half? I took a few photos that ain't worth shit, so I'll just post the videos from the night.

More video if you 'keep on reading'

The band was terrific but I don't know if it was where I was standing(in the back), but the sound in there was awful. What was up with the sound mixer and the fuzz?
