Things To Do In San Diego: April 2, 2012

Sometimes I really relish the fact that I'm getting older. Granted, I was nose to the grindstone and doing the whole corporate thing in my twenties and thus didn't quite have the financial uncertainty I have in my thirties, but this age gives me a certain peace. Like yesterday when I wrote an explosive tirade about my living situation, I had the sense not to hit 'publish', after also having the strength not to respond to my landlord's textual harassment. I will fill you in on my whole situation soon enough, but this sense of peace also means that I'm comfortable in who I am. So you can rub it in my face that Heartless Bastards are the most amazing band and I can say that I'm happy for you and enjoy the show, but I'm gonna opt for the solo dudes with their guitars, pianos, and whiskey tears and head to the Casbah tonight. Tell David Vandervelde I said hello. And when you're at Sleigh Bells tomorrow, I'll probably be at home starting the process of analyzing my inevitable move to a new home. Growing older means I don't always have to go somewhere just to keep up with my friends, and that is just fine by me.
