Newsy Bits: Loud Is Relative Benefit, Grand Ole Party, 944 Mag, Radio Sophie

From Lee at Loud Is Relative:

Booking Bands for Benefit Concert in San Diego...

I'm currently booking bands for a benefit concert at DreamStreet in Ocean Beach on September 7th. This is going to be a great event and we're looking to raise at least $2000 to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I'm looking to fit four great local bands on the bill. If you're interested in playing this show, please
message or email...

Thank you,

Go have a listen.

Congrats to Ruggy and Jamal (a.k.a. The Notorious R.U.G. and Kid Lightning, respectively) for the write up they got in this month's
944 mag. I hope that whole DJ war has been put to bed...there's room for all of you.

This week's locals featured on Radio Sophie's "Unsigned Sundays" include Dynamite Walls and Lonely Mattress Salesman. Show your local love and go vote here. (Both are getting their butts kicked by a Seattle band) In a side note, I've tried to listen to Radio Sophie, I mean I do fall right in their demo and it seems everytime I try, "Hey There, Delilah" is on or is the song that comes on immediately after whatever song is on when I get there. I get it that people like the song, but are you trying to make the rest of us hate you? I'm trying over here, I really am.

Eh, I wouldn't call it a war so much as a slap fight.
