Escondido:
Finally receiving air support in Escondido. People are watching the canyon burn as the fire moves toward Lake Hodges. Fire dept has assured people that their homes will be protected as best as they can. Many residents stayed behind to protect their homes.
Phil Blauer is reporting from Skyhawk Road which seems to be safe at this point.
Fire is approaching homes on Via Vallente.

Homes going up in Colima and Lake Drive, Juniper and 2nd- engulfed, 1st place & Juniper- gone. Fire Crews are acting completely on the defensive. (North Shore of Lake Hodges) The fire is hopscotching homes.
SD Fire and Rescue Dept allowing people back to Del Mar- South of Via De La Valle, North of Torrey Pines, West of the 5.
