San Diego Stuff You Care About (and stuff you don't)

Trying to catch up on some things, so here's some stuff I thought I'd share:

Serj Tankian has added a San Diego date at Humphrey's concerts by the bay on September 20. Grab a free download of a new track "Borders Are" by giving your e-mail here. Tickets went on sale over the weekend, so grab them now.

In the past week, the Casbah has announced several new shows, including Spoon on October 1 at Soma (tickets onsale this Friday). Another show added was Dax Riggs on September 8. You can grab a single from his forthcoming record Say Goodnight here.

Wavves next record, King of the Beach, has moved forward the release date to July 1. You can download the first single, "Post Acid", here. Nathan and band will be appearing at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (Downtown) with some guest DJ sets. It's being called a TNT event (which at one time meant FREE). Tickets are Free for members, $10 general, and $7 for students.

My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel is releasing a new solo album. All Birds will be released on August 31st by ATO Records. Check out a free download here of "Heaven Knows". (right-click/save or save link as to download)

San Diego's been getting some attention lately. First with the Travel Channel's Man vs Food featuring Phil's, Lucha Libre, and the Broken Yold in the season premiere:

There's also a new web series called Clean Break presented by Schick Hydro that made it's web debut today on Crackle.com. They focus on various watersports and kick of with a day at the Wavehouse.

Oh, and one more thing...the zoo is launching special summer pool parties (for the animals, not for people) in the Elephant Odyssey area of the zoo. That will get it's own post, however...

That's not a whole lot of information for the 100 emails I just filtered, but I assure you there will always be more. For your enjoyment, I kinda love this video from the guys of OK Go:
