Jeff's Weekly Pick: Two Door Cinema Club @ Belly Up Wednesday November 3, 2010

The power of the Internet caused lifelong friends Alex Trimble and Sam Halliday to quit their college studies to pursue music on a full time basis. This seems to be an ever increasing way for young bands to get noticed and break out into the indie mainstream. Simply posting songs on Myspace is not enough, the music has to generate interest and create the subsequent buzz. Suffice it to say, Two Door Cinema Club, hailing from Northern Ireland, deliver the goods with their brand of danceable electropop. Tourist History was released earlier this year to favorable reviews. Extensive touring, mostly on the European summer festival circuit, has given the three piece a decent fan base which is growing all the time. Opening for indie darlings Phoenix in the US was a big boost for the band. Now headlining on this side of the Atlantic brings the young band to the Belly Up this Wednesday. It is highly recommended that all attendees wear comfortable shoes, since the music will no doubt get the crowd moving.

Generationals and Funeral Party set the stage.
