Things To Do In San Diego: August 29, 2011

Is stand up comedy the new indie rock? I'm just wondering because I've noticed the number of comedy nights in San Diego multiply and when I happened upon the open mic at Eleven during the Drink About, the place was crowded. Granted, the majority of the crowd were on the list to perform, but still. There were plenty of drunken hecklers, too, so if you're thinking about testing out the mic, you better make sure your 5 minutes are tight. There's plenty of comedy this week to add to all the musical offerings, and after I spent most of the weekend bunkered up licking my wounds, I think I'll get out and enjoy a little bit of all of it.
