Mayor Jerry Sanders has issued a plea for donated blankets, cots, and food items for the displaced at Qualcomm Stadium. Qualcomm is filling rapidly and the displaced and responder teams are in dire need of food and supplies. The Mayor has asked for the Partnership’s assistance in getting this message out. If you know of anyone with a large surplus of blankets and/or cots, or a restaurant that wishes to donate food, please contact Scott Maloni at (858) 663-8838.
News 8 estimates that the stadium currently has 4,000 evacuees but could swell by the end of the day. Organizers are estimating that there could be up to 100k people evacuated by the end of the day.
