Loggerhead Turtle at Sea World (Taken 6.28.21) |
I slept. Darren and I hung out in the speakeasy last night and had a super fun time and I was still up when the sun rose, which was my cue to go to bed and I slept and it was glorious and I feel refreshed and I ate a big fat salad and drank my fluids and had a big bowl of berries for lunch and Darren made us some beautiful cod with rice and broccoli for dinner and it feels good to have put good things in my body after a night of sheer gluttony.
That was really the extent of my day. I was mostly unplugged from the news today which was definitely a break I needed. We started watching Only Murders In The Building on Hulu and it is pretty great. Steve Martin and Martin Short seem to thrive off making fun of themselves and don't seem to mind playing has-beens. After we caught up with the first three episodes we were looking for something else to watch and discovered that My So-Called Life is on Hulu, so Nova seemed to enjoy getting a glimpse of high school life in 1994. I think we've got a low-key weekend ahead of us, though I might drag the family to the San Diego Zoo one last time while they have the late hours which drop back to 6pm closing on Tuesday. While I'm sad about that, Sea World's hours have already cut but it also means Sea World's fireworks are finally over come Labor Day. Ficus definitely appreciates that. We'll probably have some family time for my dad's birthday which kicks off all our family gathering busy season, with my dad, then my mom, then my birthday, then my niece's, all in a span of 4 weeks. I will eat all the cake. :)
Stay safe out there.
