FYF Announced: Unbroken Reunites!

FYF Fest is an LA festival that brings together hardcore and indie rock. It's this very DIY kinda thing, at least in the beginning, but it's growing and therefore has more recognizable names and some excellent sponsors that make it happen. Formerly the Fuck Yeah Fest (which I guess now makes it the Fuck Yeah Fest fest?), this year's event takes place on September 4th (Labor Day weekend). Tickets are only $25 in advance. I probably have never mentioned this event on my site in the past, but when I saw San Diego's Unbroken on the lineup, I thought it was definitely worth a mention.

This years lineup includes the following:
The Rapture * Panda Bear * Sleep * Dead Man's Bones * !!! * Man Man * 7 Seconds * Thee Oh Sees * The Mountain Goats * Ted Leo & The Pharmacists * Delorean * Cold Cave * Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti * Washed Out * Wavves * School of Seven Bells * AA Bondy * The Blow * Best Coast * Davila 666 * Titus Andronicus * The Soft Pack * Abe Vigoda * Warpaint * Off! * Vetiver Ceremony * Big Fredia * Screaming Females * Magic Kids * The Growlers * Lower Dens * Let's Wrestle * Cults * and more tba.

The show takes place in the LA State Historic Park. Tickets are available here.
While looking into the festival, I also discovered that Unbroken will be playing a show the day before at the Che Cafe. Here's a message from the a band's blog:

As stated before, we are doing some benefit shows for a few friends in Sep
First off is in San Diego Sept 3rd. This will be at the Che Cafe, Why there? Because we want the Che to make money as it was always our home, but also it will be fun to play a tiny as fuck venue. Ticket info will be available soon.
The main reason we are playing the show, is Todd's wife Tanya is involved in a project to help an art community in Chiapas Mexico. We will be posting links about the project in the next week or so.

Next will be LA on Sep 4th ... It is bigger than what we wanted, but it allows us to do something special for a close friend of the band. Our friend Jen has been hit with Cancer and is without medical insurance. We talked about doing a few benefit shows to help her out, but when this LA offer came in, it made it easy to do one big show and raise $8k+ to go towards her expenses.

Unbroken was always about family and friends. This is our chance to continue to have fun and raise money for good causes that have impacts in our community as well as other places we play.
