Caffeine Crisis: Starbucks to Raise Prices

My second mention of Starbucks today. I live about 50 yards from a Starbucks and can honestly say that the only time I go there is when I've been given a gift card and I usually can find a CD I want.

My first job was at a coffee shop and I'm just not a fan of coffee all that much. The only real affect Starbuck's has on my life is (1) all the noise they make in the middle of the night when they get their deliveries and (2) the near daily assholes who park in the red zone and pull out without looking while I'm making a left turn onto Adams from Marlborough, though this sorta mirrors my sentiments on the place. This one, too. I post this for those of you who don't mind dropping $3 a day on burnt coffee.

MSNBC staff and news service reports :

SEATTLE - Starbucks said Monday it would raise its U.S. prices for lattes, Frappuccinos and other freshly made drinks by nine cents, the second price hike in less than a year.

The Seattle-based coffee retailer blamed rising costs for things including dairy products, energy and fuel for the increase.

In a statement issued after markets closed for regular trading, Starbucks said the price hike will take effect July 31, bumping the cost of most drinks by about 3 percent.
