This was copied from a MySpace bulletin, so I'm not sure what source to credit and frankly, it's just more important to get the info out. Conflicting reports say that the couple was leaving either Kadan or A/C Lounge but really, that fact just doesn't matter. Either way, it was near 30th and Adams, which is Normal Heights. Either way, it's just plain scary.
SAN DIEGO -- A search was under way Saturday for a robber who shot and killed a man outside a bar in North Park, San Diego police said.
Police said they found a man and a woman lying near a vehicle in the 2900 block of Suncrest Drive at about 12:04 a.m. Saturday.
The couple was getting into their vehicle after leaving a bar near 30th Street and Adams Avenue (Kadan) when the armed robber approached them from behind and demanded their money, police said in a news release Saturday.
Police said the robber shot the man and the woman and then ran south in the west alley of 4700 30th Street.
Both victims were transported to the hospital, where the man died at 12:53 a.m. and the woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
A witness reported seeing a light-colored Chevrolet van parked in the alley at the time of the shooting, but police said it has not been connected with the shooting at this time.
Anyone with information about this shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-TIPS.
