The Happy Hollows, Beauty Bar, 4.11.08

I mentioned after I saw Louis XIV and Transfer at the House of Blues on Thursday, I went to see The Happy Hollows at the Beauty Bar. They were already onstage when I got there, and they totally rocked. Sarah leads the charge with spazzy energy while handling most of the vocals but also kicked ass on guitar. My friend Mike was calling her "hummingbird hands" (and then deviated into perverse fantasies about said hands. I went to the show on the recommendation of Abraham, who had spent most of the evening with the band since he was there early to hand posters for Team Abraham's upcoming show, but hearing them play, I realized I was familiar with one of their songs because it's gotten some occasional play on Indie 103.1 in LA.

This band comes from the Silverlake area, and we all know that I'm a fan of most of the bands out of that little LA nook. Anyway, they rocked, they danced, and eventually so did we.

The Happy Hollows return to San Diego on June 20 and will join the Modlins at the Beauty Bar.
