Final Post: Insider DJ Kevin Gunnels, Jim Ballew, Brandon Blankenship

OK, I promise this is the last one about this (unless my name is called), but here was Kevin's third set:

Oasis "Wonderwall"
Bloodhound Gang "Firewater Burn"
Death Cab For Cutie "Title and Registration"

I hate this Bloodhound Gang song. OK, pretty much every song by them.

And I can't confirm, but
this might be the girl who didn't call in. (It's her friend's birthday today)

This may be the dude who was called for noon. He's got a local band as his song, so he gets a gold star.

Update: I can't help myself. That definitely is Abel's MySpace page. Here are his songs:

Foo Fighters- Hero
Dropkick Murphy's- Wild Rover
Everlast- What It's Like

I'll give props at least for playing a band because they are touring and playing in town soon (Dropkick Murphy's). Despite the sentimentality, the Foo Fighters get a lot of spins so I'm giving a thumbs down, and I still haven't recovered from when Everlast was popular and What It's Like was on every hour, so another thumbs down.

Hey Kevin, are you still reading? Did they really make you choose from a list?

I will pick up with the best Insider thus far, Jim Ballew of OB. His MySpace profile is private which off the bat told me he was smarter than the average bear.

His picks:
Anytime- My Morning Jacket
War on War- Wilco
Hi-Speed Soul- Nada Surf

I only heard the last two but love love love both picks and I don't hear them on the radio ever. Too bad Halloran went right into a set with Bob Marley, Pearl Jam, then Red Hot Chili Peppers. God, I really fucking hate RHCP.

Update: Brandon Blankenship is awesome.

Infrared- Placebo (though I would've gone with Meds from my original choice of 3 songs)
Dream at Tempo 119- Silversun Pickups
Neighborhood #3- Arcade Fire

we're doing better, kids!
*****
Final Insider of the day: Guy McClellan (don't look up myspace, that is NOT this guy)

boo.

Territorial Pissing- Nirvana
We're Only Gonna Die From Our Own Arrogance- Sublime
Creep- Stone Temple Pilots

what a terrible set. he should just listen to 91X.
