Thing To Do: Duran Duran At Valley View Casino

Last week, I gave away a pair of tickets for Duran Duran who are performing at Valley View Casino, and I just wanted to update and spread the word that tickets are still available. I'm looking forward to the show because when Duran Duran were in their prime, I was more worried about memorizing my times tables than going to concerts. I've also been hoping for the right opportunity to check out the various casino concert venues in the region. So far I've only been to Harrah's (INXS) and Vieja's (Gipsy Kings, Music Awards). I hear Valley View has a killer buffet, too, so maybe I can talk Daye into checking it out.

Remaining tour dates:

May 8 - Valley View - San Diego, CA
May 9 - The Joint - Las Vegas, NV
May 10 - The Joint - Las Vegas, NV

Over the weekend, I checked out bits of Duran Duran's latest album, Red Carpet Massacre, and I'll definitely say it's a grower for me. Part of that was knowing that it was produced and has guest appearances by Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. It has moments where it sounds like gay club music, other times like a boy band, but it occurred to me that this is where Duran Duran shines. I mean, have you ever heard Duran Duran in a club and NOT started shaking your ass?

So yes, I'm going to the show and I'm looking forward to it.
