San Diego Music Foundation Presents FREE Workshops

SAN DIEGO MUSIC FOUNDATION TO HOST ARTIST DEVELOPMENT SERIES OF WORKSHOPS

The nonprofit San Diego Music Foundation (SDMF) will launch a series of artist development seminars for San Diego musicians. The seminars will take place at The Lafayette Hotel, 2223 El Cajon Blvd in North Park Each of the seminars will be presented FREE to the San Diego music community, thanks to the generous donations of BMI, AmplifySD.com, and San Diego CityBeat.

Saturday, June 23, 2007 - Music Industry 101: The Basics 1-5pm
Everything you need to know about getting started in the business of music. Panelists will discuss the “how to” for recording a quality demo to developing an effective promo package to building a functional Web site to booking/promoting consistent local gigs and more.

Saturday, July 21, 2007 - Music Industry 101: Building Your Brand
The second installment in the Music Industry 101 series will delve into building a fanbase through merchandising, marketing/promotion and regional touring. Panelists will discuss booking and promoting shows outside of San Diego, graphic design/artist Web sites, cost-effective production of t-shirts, stickers, posters, flyers/postcards and more.
