Bad News For Street Scene?

According to today's Union-Trib, anti-drug and anti-alcohol groups are recommending a no vote on holding Street Scene at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Drugs have been used out in the open and drunken crowds difficult to control at
past Street Scenes, the prevention groups told directors of the 22nd District
Agricultural Association, which operates the fairgrounds.

“Our initial suggestion would be not to hold it here,” said Lise Marquis, chairwoman of the legislative committee for the San Diego Council on Alcohol Policy.

4 months to go and no venue confirmed. Is this a bad sign or is that lobby just given the mic to appease them and their input typically meaningless? We shall see.

Interesting thing ... nobody representing Street Scene was at the meeting. A sign that they aren't on the ball? Or a sign that the deal's nearly done and they felt this wasn't going to derail things?
