Anti-Monday League Pt II: Meat Puppets

I decided to try to make my way back in the venue and maneuver closer to the stage, but it was wall to wall with people. I found Joe Camacho hanging up front and then a really tall guy next to him let me in front against the side rail. Suh-weet. Someone told me it didn't matter, there was no photography allowed, but I didn't believe them. Still, I wanted to be
careful, so I went flashless for a while.

The band sounded great, and it was a relief after Dinosaur Jr last week that there was no psychotic amplification set up. There was a group of about 10 people up front going kinda nuts throughout the whole show but everyone else seemed entertained but contained. There were a bunch of people taking pictures, too, so I turned the flash back on and went to town. I set a personal record for most pictures taken in one night and ended up with 109 shots of the Meat Puppets alone.

From my vantage point I couldn't get a decent shot of the bassist. I saw the disco ball light go on and I knew that Dusty was back by the sound board manning the lights, so I texted him to turn up the lights a bit on the bassist. I'm only sharing this because in my vodka bliss, it was pretty funny. Unfortunately, the light that should've been on him was out, so I had to go maneuver my way around and somehow, I was able to squeeze up front.

I forgot to mention that I had a pair of tickets to giveaway last week. "If you want the pair," I said, "e-mail me with why you should get them." The winning response was from Petro who said he would be my designated driver. He had me at hello. Anyway, during the show Petro asked that I take a picture of the pedals, so this is for you, Petro.

The show was great, I met some cool people, and had some adult bevvies, so I gotta say it was a good night. I had my eye on the one setlist, but this guy snagged it. It was okay that I didn't get it, but he acted like a 5 year old bragging about it. Dude, you're not supposed to take the setlist before the encore, fyi. Anyway, he let me take a pic of it, sorry it's not that great.

Also, on the way out I did finally see one of the signs that Sean and Petro told me about. ooops. I swear, it wasn't me :)
