Mark Your Calendars, San Diego: SoCo Music Experience Is Back

The Southern Comfort Music Experience will be back in San Diego this summer and the best thing about it: the show is free (though restricted to 21+).

Taking place on the open parking lot at Market (between 6th & 7th, I believe), last year's event had national touring bands like The Roots, Flogging Molly, Spank Rock and Mudhoney, along with locals like Rookie Card, Grand Ole Party, and Fifty on Their Heels, among others.

The line-up for this year's event is expected to be announced in a couple weeks, but last year's lineup overlapped that of the same event in Atlanta.

The Atlanta line-up includes:

Wolfmother
Cypress Hill
Galactic
Mickey Avalon
Sick Puppies
Rose Hill Drive
Zac Brown

If my source is correct, this year's San Diego event will take place August 24 & 25 (Friday and Saturday), but it might be Sat/Sun. I'll keep you posted and confirm the dates as the event nears.
