SD:Dialed In quoted in Blurt
With the weird week, I didn't really look at the Reader this week, but when I finally got around to it, I again found my name in print. I'm quoted for my writing about the supposed Kings of Leon vs Interpol feud at Indie Jam. Not mentioned is my follow up to that which I posted here. Also, blatantly missing from the Blurt article is that the story about the Kings of Leon guys swiping the Interpol dog was a RUMOR and though I heard it from a reliable source, I never stated it as fact. Then again, it's Blurt- known for stirring the shit pot. Whateva, I appreciate the link, though it would be nicer to get the $25 tip from the shit swiped directly from my blog...

Hey Rosey,
I don't understand - if we tell you ahead of time we may quote on this subject from your blog (as we did here), AND we send $25 per tip used (as offered on the Blurt masthead, and as the paper does for you whenever your blog provides a lead we wouldn't otherwise have known to look into), how is that "swiping" from your blog? Anyways, the Blurt as originally worded included your followup info on this, but sometimes Blurts get trimmed to fit available space, as happened here. Tim Mays' quotes took the piece in a somewhat different direction, ie afterparties in general rather than the one in particular you blogged about.
Eds probably thought you saying "Story goes..." and us crediting your post as a "theory" made it clear the account was more "word around town" than fact. I might not have edited it that way, but the account as published seems clearly stated and sourced. We value your blog as a finger on the local pulse, and (so far as I know) the paper always pays well for quoting from and doing stories inspired by blog entries that you post for free, for the world to read. Thanks! AND you're welcome -
JAS

As yet to see what a Reader check looks like. I do what I do and post it for free for the world to see, however, if someone then takes that and makes money, i.e. advertising dollars, I think I'm entitled to more than a link. I'm jus' sayin...
Agreed! I'll make sher $$$ for the several recent tips you've provided are sent your way this week. I'll continue to keep you posted whenever a Reader story results from your blog, and I'll personally make sher corresponding tip fees are paid quickly. Thanks again!
