Tonight: Roots Farm Fundraiser @ Sea Rocket Bistro

From Sea Rocket Bistro (located at Upas & 30th):

We're holding a fundraiser for the New Roots Farm on March 19th. The
New Roots Farm is an extraordinarily important community garden
because they are trying to simplify the process of creating gardens
for people of follow them with other community garden projects in San
Diego. They are working with city representatives on this and are
documenting the process to create a guide. This garden can help all
future community gardens!

The fundraiser we're holding is special because, unlike most
fundraisers that give a small percentage of sales to a group, 100% of
the $15 donations for the event go to the New Roots Farm (other sales
at the restaurant go to Sea Rocket). Also, the food served at the
event will be donated by various local farms and gardeners, so it will
be a true local meal. Some of the people providing food are Sage
Mountain Farm, Bella Vado avocado oil, Mitch Hobron (diver who is
bringing sea urchin), and we'll donate some food from the restaurant
as well as preparing the food people donate.

The event will be from 6-8pm tonight. For more information, click here.

I second any event at Sea Rocket. I did a beer pairing night with Lightening about a month ago and the food was amazing. It might be a little bit pricey but your paying for fresh local produce and supporting the local farm industry so think about it!!!!
