WebCeleb Presents Campus Rumble

So last week I was contacted by a company called Webceleb which basically is a free online community for supporting emerging artists and musicians by providing them with an online roadmap for advancing their career to the next level. WebCeleb users can market themselves online, connect with new fans, manage their public image, further their career, and make money pursuing their dreams.

They have put together a contest which runs between March 15th - April 26th where there will be 6 finalists- with 3 overall winning performers. Musicians will perform live in May at an outdoor venue on SDSU with a capacity of between 2,000 – 2,500 people. Webceleb collaborated with the Cultural Arts and Special Events committee (CASE) and the American Marketing Association (AMA) to empower SDSU students to crowdsource a concert and connect with professional, emerging musicians.

The six-week long, online contest is open to musicians in Southern California and is part of Webceleb’s effort to support developing talent by providing them with opportunities for taking their careers to the next level.

“We want to provide fans with a voice that is heard loud and clear,” proclaimed Scott Fetters, one of Webceleb’s Co-Founders. “Fan participation is critical in discovering Webcelebs and this music event strengthens our commitment to both. However, we believe a Webceleb can be more than just an online fad. Our goal from the beginning has been to help advance the careers of talented individuals through online crowdsourcing efforts. Therefore, we will work hard to continue to ensure that online recognition translates into possibilities for opening real doors.”

If you are a musician in Southern California who thinks you’re the next Webceleb and wants to get involved, or are someone simply interested in learning more about the concert, please go to www.webceleb.com, or call Scott Fetters at (303) 944-0931.

I will be providing more info on this event as finalists are chosen and whatnot. Right now here are the top 6 artists in the running.

1. Come On Get Happy
2. Jennelle Lazaro
3. Nadia Lanfranconi
4. Break Her Fall
5. Lands on Fire
6. Keezmc

Any band can do this and they should do this. It is an excellent way to be directly influenced by your fans. Plus you can win chance to play in front of potentially 2,500 people. FREE.
