Thursday Newsy Bits

Not a whole lotta news to report but here's what I've got today:

I mentioned before that the Autolux show at the Casbah has been cancelled. The replacement show with Japanese Sunday, Swim Party, and Roxy Jones is FREE and will start with Roxy Jones at 9 and Swim Party at 9:45. After you can go catch Junior of Fifty on Their Heels and Edgartronic spinning at the Beauty Bar with no cover.

Tool has added a second date in San Diego. They will now be appearing on May 2 & 3 at Cox Arena. Does anyone know what ever happened to that dude that was in serious condition after being trampled at Street Scene? Tool's website shows an on-sale date of March 23 for the show on May 3.

Manu Chao tickets are now available through presale. Tickets are $26, with a $4 per ticket service charge and $3.50 (for total sale) as the cheapest shipping option. You can get will call tickets, but judging by lines last year, I do not recommend it. I believe tickets will be available sans service charges at the iPayOne Center box office. Since tickets go onsale tomorrow, I would recommend just waiting.

For those of you upset about the cancellation of Fox Rox, you can voice your opinion to station management at
foxrox@fox6.com For people wondering why the show was canceled, from my understanding Subway dropped out as a major sponsor of the show and no company stepped up to fill the sponsorship. TV is all about money, Sillies. The shows are just fill between commercials, remember?

I got this little message in MySpace and I thought I'd share that there's an event tonight at Belo including
- A Hollywood Red Carpet Entrance
- Fashion show by Monarchy Clothing
- Los Angeles DJ Marshall Barnes spinning 80's and rock in the main room
- San Diego DJ Rags spinning hip-hop in the side room
- Coverage by 944 Magazine San Diego
- Hosted by Colie from the Real World Denver!!!

Neat. It's VIP or something rather, so just say "Higher Minds" at the door and that is supposed to get you in.

The
Starlight Bowl website is now live. There is a show this Sunday with Bordertown Bust, The Bayou Brothers, Mystery Train, Tom Baird, Freedom Band, and Big Fellas. Uh, take your parents?
