Newsy Bits for Thursday

Tori Amos fans: According to everythingtori.com, if you pre-order American Doll Posse on iTunes, the forthcoming album from Tori (to be released May 1), you will receive a password for a Ticketmaster pre-sale. She is expected to roll through San Diego on the tour, so get on it.

Apparently there's this new band called ¡Society! that everyone is talking about. See them in this week's
CityBeat, the Reader's Blurt section, and the Daily Aztec. The Daily Aztec highlights several other local acts in their local bands issue, including the Power-chords.

Hi-Speed Soul Records is re-releasing Nada Surf's Karmic EP- the album that started it all. This Karmic re-release will hit stores 6/12/07 and includes a bonus track called "Pressure Free", only previously available on an out of print 7". In addition to the CD, this EP will be pressed on limited edition colored vinyl for the first time. Hi-Speed Soul Records is the label created by M-Theory owners Eric Howarth and Heather Johnson. They will also be releasing the forthcoming solo album from former Swervedriver frontman Adam Franklin.
